Hello,
I have attempted to lay my extension sand and cement screed. On the whole it is not a total disaster however it is 20mm higher in one corner (in comparison to the opposite corner 5 metres away).
Is there any way I can sand/grind this section down?
Unfortunately self levelling compound...
I’ve purchased a house recently with no issues noted on the survey, we have begun the process of having a new kitchen and when the plumber has pulled the floor up to run some new pipes we have noticed the joists at the back of the house are poorly fitted at the back of the house and not sitting...
Hi, I have a wet room, (made when i had a grant because of spinal problems) and in it the floor is safety flooring, like the kind Alto do but its grooved like an embossed pattern in it. Its not smooth which is my problem. I dont have the spinal problems anymore and want to put a shower tray and...
Hi
Purchase a new toilet and installing it but having issues with cistern not level. I’ve levelled the base as floor was out of level but the cistern is not level to the toilet. This only bolts on with two bolts (1 either side) and has a rubber washer in between the cistern and pan on the bolts...
My first question is, my architect has not included a level threshold detail for my bifold doors. Can I differ from the drawing without having it approved? Can my BCI just approve a method?
can someone explain or show me the detail for a level threshold? (Beam and block floor)

Hi,
I've just taken up some big horrible flags out of my kitchen that were laid on an inch or so of cement (still to do under kitchen units).
I plan to put laminate down but the surface is going to need levelling.
There is a concrete section, boarded section (little uneven) and some channels...
Hi all.
My 1st floor bedroom floor is wonky. Drops unto 40mm from edge to centre - looks like bowed joists. I'm loathe to sister each joists with new timber and someone suggested just shimming the joists - add a strip of wood to the top of each joist with varying thickness to create a level...
Hi All,
I have a concrete floor which is pretty uneven, full of steep local dips and rises of more than 12mm, and far from level. I will be levelling it with latex or something, as it needs to be approaching SR1 for the floor covering.
Some of the floor is newly laid (replacing excavated bit)...
I've got this 12ft diameter x 80cm in height, outdoor metal framed swimming pool.
The only possible location is on this 12ft x 12ft slabbed patio. (I say 12ft - when i got it out i measured it as 10ft but the box says 12ft, so that's confusing - unless these things expand?).
Anyway, it slopes...
Does anyone know wot setting I need on my level for the run on a underground drainage pipe? 0.9/1.8?? Any help would be much appreciated
I have attached a picture as I'm a little bit confused?
Hi guys,
Hope you're all in good form :)
My latest project in the house is leveling (and then covering with laminate flooring) my garage concrete floor. I think the best bet would be leveling compound as it's pretty uneven in parts. I have a couple of problems though:
(Please see pictures...
Hi,
My builders have finished plasterboarding our extension. The worst wall, the plasterboard is flat on the top half but then bows in towards the bottom. When I put a spirit level on the wall the bottom is about 9-10 mm in. I told the builder I wasn't happy and didn't expect such a huge...
Problem:
Tiling a kitchen floor.
Half is covered in bitumen (from parquet floor). Half is a new concrete slab.
There is a 35mm level difference across the floor and is fairly lumpy.
Possible solution No.1?:
Use latex self-levelling compound such as arditex na.
BUT: I am slightly worried...
