Hello,
We had out kitchen fitted last November, and as the year has gone on we've spotted several issues.
The worst (or the one that seems to be driving my wife crazy) is that the worktop joints aren't level. It's a U shaped kitchen and both connecting joints seems to be raised. Is this an...
I want to put engineered wood boards down on this subfloor in my hallway but it dips about 7mm in the middle. I think the boards need <3mm. The joists run down the length of the hallway and I guess they're not quite level.
Am I looking at taking up the sagging boards and levelling the joists...
Hi all,
We have recently moved in to a victorian house and ripped the old 60's fireplace out in order to have a wood burner fitted. It's in pretty good condition underneath but needs levelling before I can tile.
What would be best to use? The back section is about an inch lower than the front...
Hello all,
I really need some advice having never attempted anything like this before.
I am attempting to build a 28m² patio and so far I have:
Dug out soil to 150mm
Added 5 tonnes of type 1 MOT sub-base
I still need to add another tonne but I'm worried about levelling (with the drop) as...
Morning,
I have recently laid a concrete base in the garden for a new workshop. It is larger than the workshop base as it will also be a woodstore and shelter for garden furniture etc. consequently it was constructed with a fall so water drains from the back and sides.
Obvious issue now is...
I've been guttering, and thought that I'd use a water level to ensure that the outflow is lower than the top of the guttering run. It's a 6m run, so I was aiming for a 10mm fall across it. The water level doesn't seem usable for one person up a ladder :(
It might seem simple at first - water...
So far I've put down over 5mm ontop of what was required to level due to not getting a decent finish.
I'm at the point of possibly hiring a floor grinder https://www.hss.com/hire/p/htc-gl270-grinder, they're not cheap & theres no guarantee it'll look good.
Should I:
1. Hire the floor grinder...
Good afternoon everybody,
I have recently purchased a house with old asbestos floor tiles. I am having these removed after being convinced by others to screed over - luckily only one bedroom and hallway was completed. The screeding/latex has laminated (like puff pastry) and is breaking up. I...
Hi All,
I have a concrete floor which is pretty uneven, full of steep local dips and rises of more than 12mm, and far from level. I will be levelling it with latex or something, as it needs to be approaching SR1 for the floor covering.
Some of the floor is newly laid (replacing excavated bit)...
Hello,
I'm wondering if you can get a floor levelling compound which you can screw or nail into? Something which cures to a wood-like consistancy?
If so, can anyone suggest the products?
Thanks!
Hi guys,
I am about to level my rough concrete floor using the very helpful sticky but I have a couple of questions.
I have built some MDF furniture in there (I know I should have levelled the floor first - d'oh!). Is it ok to tape around this to protect it or should I make some shuttering? If...
