Hello
I cleaned up my garage floor and wanted to lay down 100mm PIR insulation, TG chipboard... It is a concrete base floor at the moment with dips. See picture attached.
I have read to put KILN dried sand on the areas....
Any suggestions?
So I got a single skin outhouse with a dpm below concrete and I’ve tanked it for good mesure.
Plan was to 2x1 batten out walls at 400mm apart with a dpm strip behind & not touch the floor with them.
Then 50mm PIR celotex over the top to create a small cavity (taping joints) then foil back...
I'm insulating my shed to use as office. It's quite thick and sturdy, like a log cabin in construction. I'm planning to attached 70mm deep (finished size) stud frame to wall, fit 50mm cellotex (leaving 20mm air gap behind it), then tape and plasterboard. Battens seem to be either 19mm or 25mm...
Hi
I’m hoping to improve the loft insulation of a cold roof of a large wood clad, timber frame bungalow that is currently poorly insulated and struggles with heat retention. It is currently largely single glazed (I’m working on secondary glazing with Magnetglaze Extreme Pro and 4-6mm Perspex)...
I have put down 100mm PIR boards ontop of a new concrete slab, some areas are fine but in others the boards have a lot of movement. Is it better to use sand underneath to level out or is it possible to fix in place with screws/washers? Over top will be a vapour control layer, underfloor heating...
I've recently installed a floating floor over a concrete slab in a garden workshop.
Due to height concerns (door threshold/plug sockets) I went for 25mm PIR under 18mm T&G OSB (with DPM and slip layers).
I've got a lot more floor deflection than expected, would 3.6mm plywood laid perpendicular...
Hi all,
I'm currently in the middle of building an office in my garden.
It's been pretty slow progress due to having 2 small kids, and having a tough time with my mental health.
Due to Covid, the roofing sheets I ordered at the end of October still haven't arrived. I've constructed the roof...
We are having a L shaped loft conversion done with wet, between joist, under floor heating. As we are installing carpets (2.2
combined tog) the UFH supplier warned us about heat loss with regards to warm up time performance.
We have 100mm PIR everywhere, but there are lot of battens and two...
Hi all,
