1991 Ford Fiesta

Good Morning
New to site.
Teaching brother to drive in his fiesta. spend about an hour at a time.
3point turn, reversing round corner, and general movements.
Early days so far on industrial estate at slow speed.
Noticed last couple of times temperature gauge is going to top of normal, so take her for a quick spin and she cools down.
Ok when driving to and from work or similar journey.
Dont think fan is cutting in (could it be that the relay has blown) ?
Any advice greatly appreciated.

Sounds like faulty thermostat switch not kicking the fan in when hot. Best get it sorted before weather warms up, not an expensive job. Check all hoses and water, also when hot have a look in engine bay for any signs of leakage in rad or cooling system.
