When my new boiler and unvented cylinder was installed 6.5 years ago a Salus 2 port valve was used. A couple of years ago the actuator failed and I replaced it. Now I notice the vavle itself is leaking at the point where it fits into the actuator i.e. the bit that turns!
I'm assuming there's no way to fix this so a new valve is required, requiring the system to be drained.
Given the issues I've experienced with the Salus valve I plan to get another make. Are there good/bad makes? Any recommendations for good valves? I'm thinking Honeywell? I assume most motorised valves allow the actuator head to be replaced?
Are valves a standard size? If not, I guess I need to try to get one that is exactly the same size as the Salus valve, to avoid having to change the piping?
Thanks.
