I am currently living in Malta. The whole block of flats is wired 3 phase . My 2 bedroomed flat uses a washing machine , a clothes dryer, 1 airconditioning unit of 24000btu and other small electrical household goods. no electrical heaters. Can someone explain the implications if I change to single phase. The electrical company are happy to change it to one phase if I request it.

Thanks in advance

Hi you have left much info out of the question.

Can you tell me

what is the 3 phase voltage
what is the single phase voltage
how many phases in your board
what is the voltage of your lights
also voltage of each each appliance
are you on 50 or 60 Htz

Not without knowing more details of the situation.

1: Why do you want to convert to single phase?
2: What is the maximum current per phase of your existing supply?
3: what would the maximum current of a single phase supply be?
4: What is the phase-phase and phase-neutral/earth votlage of the system?
5: what type of three phase system is it?
6: how are single phase loads derived from the three phase system?
