Morning all, further to my post here - https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/how-best-to-deal-with-underlay-between-me-my-neighbour.630154/ - after having the slates off, it turns out most of the timber was rotten (rafters, wallplate, fascia, bargeboard). So everything’s had to come off & most has been replaced over the weekend.
Now at the stage where the slates are about to go back on. A few basic questions:
1. How do I finish the underlay at the gable end? Do I just flap it down the wall & fix the bargeboard over it-?
2. My understanding is that the bargeboard is fixed up tight to the slates. The small gap that will be left between the two - can I just fill that with silicone sealant?
3. How much should the slates overhang the bargeboard?
Thanks.
