So was looking through a nauticalia catalogue and saw this item, a security timer light switch that fits over a normal existing UK light switch and does not require any re-wiring of the existing light switch.

Advertised as being compatible with single, double and triple light switches. Just wondering how reliable and compatible it will be with the many subtle varieties of light switches.

What is your opinion on it?

If there's no direct electrical connection to the time switch, how does it work?

interesting - it should work with low-energy lamps even where there is no neutral.

However if it assumes that 'down' = 'on' it may lose track of the light status on two-way switch wiring.
