Hello,

I have a light switch at the bottom of the stairs going upstairs to my kids room. I would like to add a switch to the top of the stairs do to it being safer for them if they get up at night and going down the stairs in the dark Not sure how to do this . I am somewhat sure I need to use 14/3 wire. But not to sure how to hook it all up. If you can help me out I would be greatful. Hell as far as I know I might not even be able to do this......

Well thanks for any input you can offer on this matter. :D

Yes, it's not that difficult but you have to understand your own competence and local regulations before making the decision whether to do it yourself or not.

This is a UK based site so the information is only relevent to UK installations, but here http://www.wfu.edu/~matthews/courses/p230/switches/SwitchesTut.html is a US based page that shows you how it works.
