Hi all

Have a very tired old switch plate/grid module that needed replacing. It has 3 switches going off to the fridge, dryer and washing machine. Took the old one off and went to fit a new one (links at bottom) but as the modules "front load" the slightest pressure from good ol rigid as hell twin and earth and 'pop' out they come from the module plate. Have even trimmed back the cables and installed a deeper back box (47mm) to try and give more room but still popping out the frame every two seconds. Can anyone suggest from experience some "back loading" modules that actually sit firm in the holder please? Don't care about colour as long as they stay put!

Current (infuriating) modules

Thanks in advance everyone

Fit the frame then wire the switches, loosen the frame completely and fit the switches in the loose grid, then dress the cables in and screw back the frame/switches as one assembly. the cover should then hold them firm

+1 for the scolmore minigrid system. used it in my kitchen and was very pleased. toolstation do a decent range and other(online) sellers do the ones with legends ie washing machine, tumble dryer etc

you should be able to take all the switches out and the grid plate, under should be a standard box where you should be able to fit any other grid switch assembley such as crabtree or MK
