Advice on cosft effective heating

Hi all,

I'm living in a rental property and my old 1970s warm air boiler has broken.

The landlord is happy to replace it with a new system and seems to not mind what direction we want to go in.

With this in mind, I'm trying to decide whether a replacement warm air system would be better or if it would be more energy efficient (save on my energy bills) to go for a wet system with the installation of radiators.

Would be great to get some advice on the best direction to go in from the pov of reducing my energy bills.

my mother in law has a warm air system in her bungalow -I must admit it does make the rooms nice and warm and surprisingly with no real draught, its not like a fan heater

Im not sure the technology has been developed as much as wet systems and I doubt the ducts in an old system would be very well insulated


overall though I would say either system may be more dependent on rate of heat loss than efficiency of the system.

Is a replacement warm air boiler not an option or a repair?

I had warm air heating in a 1 bedroom flat- it was audible but not really intrusive and warmed the place up very quickly. Can't remember running costs- it was 30 years ago!
One advantage of radiators etc- there are many sophisticated control options available (wireless trvs are a biggie) that allow you to target heat where and when you want it. Similar toys may be available for warm air systems but I've never seen any advertised (for domestic systems anyway).

A replacement warm air boiler is definitely an option. Do you think that's what I should go with?
