Advice on fitting new top to soil pipe

Hi all,

I'm trying to fit a PVC S-bend leading to a vent to an existing caste iron soil pipe. I've bought a converter, which you just plug into the hole of the existing caste iron pipe but found the rubber fins on the converter are quite shallow and it doesn't seem long enough to be secure. The fit isn't quite tight enough so am considering cementing around the join but any other suggestions welcome.

Put another wall bracket on above the join? And if the seal is really loose run a bit of silicone round it

Yes, it's finlock gutter lined. Good shout about the wall bracket - hadn't crossed my mind
