Hey guys,

I'm going to be installing underfloor heating with 10cm insulation, topped off with a 5cm screed.

The area is just over 35sqm and will have a kitchen, so there will be electrics, water supply and a drain installed.

For the drain to work, it obviously needs to be at a slope. The 'problem' is that the sink will be in an island, so it must go under the (raised) floor.

How do I handle the drain pipe, and other plumbing?

Should I just cut out a notch from the insulation, and lay the drain pipe in there? Same for the water supply, and electrics.

Thanks

Run it in the insulation, you have 100mm of it so that should be plenty to give you a nice fall.

Yes, cut out the insulation and run your supplies and waste in that. If you're feeling really fancy, you can then backfill the grooves you've cut with expanding foam.

Have you seen NuHeat's LoPro Max system? High heat outputs and only a 25mm height build, with no need to insulate underneath. Might be more appropriate for your project...
