Afumex cable in spain is it required

Hello

I have been quoted to use Afumex cable for our Bar area that is currently being revamped, is this necessary ? is this just a trade name ? is there an alternative ? standard armoured cable for example ?

I can only second-guess on this, but as this is a bar-area, a cable with "built-in" protection of an aluminium sheath has been specified to reduce the risks associated with physical damage to the cable. These cables are also Low Smoke, meaning that in the event of fire, they give of less smoke and other toxins than "standard" cables.
An alternative might be "Pyro", but that requires specialist knowledge and equipment to terminate correctly, and thus would work out more expensive.
