air con power size

hi all, i am off to tenerife to fit an air con unit for my little sister, i dont have any idea what im doing and working with spanish instructions will make it even harder!

What i need to know is what size cable and breaker needs to be used. I guess it will be a split system of around 15000-18000bpu. Any idea? I have been told by a spark to use 2.5mm but i would of thought this is a bit light? i cant seem to find any info on how many amps these things pull while starting or running.

Without knowing how much power the unit uses, there is no way we can advise what size cable to use.

I don't have the first clue what type or size cable they use over there, or local practices for overcurrent and shock protection.
