Just a quick question, or at least I hope it is.
We have a single skin breeze block detached garage, k-rend on the outside and bare on the inside. I want to turn it into a bit of a gym, so I was going to batten out the inside with some 3x2's and then plasterboard over the top, fill the gaps and paint.
Question is I read a lot online about air gaps etc. I planned to put 50mm insulation within the gaps of the stud work. This would be perfect for the 3x2's on the wall.
However, I am told I need to leave an air gap, I don't want to eat too much into the room, it also does not have to be mega insulated or anything as we still have a normal garage door on there with slight gaps around it etc. Am I best to lower to maybe 30mm insulation and then have a 20mm air gap? So Breeze block, 20mm gap, PIR, plasterboard?
Also, slight change from the above, can I just get concrete screws and screw straight into the dense block without the need to plug every batten?
