Aldis new "full size car cover"

Out now in Aldi stores is the new full size car cover made by Auto XS

I want it to cover my car from the rain

But it says on the packet

Water repellent
100% polyester

What do you recon?

It has places it leeks a little that will require attention when i get round to it

It says its water repellent, if it was waterproof it would say.

Made of polyester, so it might be woven fabric, allowing vapour to escape.

Remarkable value, other cheap ones are usually plastic sheet.

I'll try one.

My neighbour has a soft-top car, and throws some kind of tarp over it.

It depends on the quality, but these are effectively water proof. The say "repellent" as they are not technically solid like polythene but are woven and if you try and use it to hold lots of water say like a pond liner or spray water under pressure, it will leak. But for rain it works.

I have similar fabric on the garden furniture and it keeps them dry. It does even hold some water which the birds seem to love.

These aren't the wide woven sheets like poly tarps, more like hiking shell tops with sewn but not taped seams unless they've changed since I've had mine.

For the insignificant cost, give it a try.

Aldi are very good with returns if there is something wrong with it.
