I can't use my phone because I keep getting an error message "Google Play Services has stopped working" If I click OK the message comes back about a second later. I've tried rebooting and it makes no difference. Sometimes I get a different message offering to report the fault but so far I've only pressed "decline" in case it is some identity theft scam or whatever. Can anyone tell me how to clear this message? Phone is a Meanit Promise MQ508, about 3 months old.

had a similar problem when i fist got my Chinese phone, in the end i did a reboot and some automatic updates happened which cleared it, have you recently changed SD cards?

No, I don't have an SD card. I did manage to get into settings/apps/Google Play Services and tried to press "disable" but nothing happened. I do find sometimes I have to press the screen quite hard before it responds. I tried letting it report the fault but that made no difference.

I had a similar problem, factory reset is all I could do. It returned after a couple of months though, so in the end I replaced it. I believe it was a bug in the networks branding of the OS

a factory reset will probably sort it but if you don;t want to do that could could try deleted the cahced data that good play services uses. If you go into "settings" -> "apps" and depending on what android version you have you should have the option to delete cache, or delete data. This may remove some saved data from apps but it should only be a cache to make things run quicker.
