Name me 1 politician that is in office because of his specialist knowledge (in any subject you want to mention. In any party).

The politicians are there to direct the civil service to achieve what they want them to do. Not to do the actual work.

It's a bit like managers at a hospital for example. You wouldn't expect them to operate on you.

And for that she suffered a huge amount of abuse....she paved the way for all the ethnic minority MPs we now have in the Conservative party.

She took all the flack for them

Im no fan of hers at all, I find her slow speech irritating, but I just keep in mind what she went through and give her some slack

The way she talks drives me mad long slurs and long blinks, she talks like a primary school teacher telling of a child. Come to mention it a lot of politicians have very annoying voices, keir sounds like someone trying to stop themselves from throwing up as does Esther McVey and Rachael reeves. Evette Cooper always talks with a deep frown on her face and looks like she is acting whatever emotion she thinks she needs to portray. Kahn delivers sentences sounding like he is falling down the stairs, speaking in lumps.
