Hello everyone,
I am looking to repair an internal wall and looking for some advice on plastering and brickwork.
As you will see in the photos, I need to replaster the wall and 'build up' some of the brickwork where it has been damaged. I plan to do the following:
- Using Thistle Hardwall, I plan to 'build up' the damaged brickwork so it is back in line with the rest of the brickwork. I'll do this by layering up about a cm at a time, then wait for that to dry, repeat.
- I'll then chip off the old bits of plaster, then apply a PVA solution to the whole area.
- Then am going to plaster the whole area with more Thistle Hardwall
- I am going to try and get an edge back but won't be using beading...I saw someone use a bit of wood to plaster up to to form a new corner
- If needed, will then apply a finishing coat of plaster
Does that all sound like the right process and using the right materials? Its not a huge area, just either side of the fireplace.
Thanks for any advice you might be able to give!-
