We've sanded down our table due to it having a few marks and im stuck as to what to do next.

I'm not sure what was used previous, the table felt smooth and had to be sanded down as we spilt nail Polish remover on it.The 2 benches are in perfect condition and if I can get away with just painting the table that would be great!

Last table we used Annie Sloan clear & Dark wax but i think i put to much on and the table felt tacky.

What would be best beeswax or a wood stain? also i sanded it down using 180 grit sandpaper is that enough?

Danish oil, you could add a colour[spirit based wood dye] if you want to change existing.

Right we took a part of the table to the Local timber merchant who recommended a wood stain sadolin English oak.

I've since sanded the table down using 120 grit.

I've applied 3 coats of the English oak but I'm not 100% sure on the colour, also you can still see the lighter parts of the wood.

Can I add a darker colour ? Or would I have to strip back.
