Anyone used a water level?

Not difficult if the water level is use to set an arbituary level line at a safe height above ground (*). Then use that level line and a tape measure to set levels at the top of a ladder.

(*) setting this about 4 foot above ground level saves backache from bending

stop with the bad adviceabout setting low benchmarks and workin up from them to set gutter falls.

droppin a tape from the top of a ladder?

So you advocate climbing a ladder with one end of a water level and fixing it in place at one end of the gutter.

What happens to the water while you are doing this ? It runs out of the other end of the hose pipe.....

Maybe you and a mate could perform synchronised ladder climbing to save the water.

Or you go up a ladder, fix one end, down the ladder, move the ladder, up the ladder, fix the other end, down the ladder, fill the watering can, up the ladder with the watering can, fill the hose, and then you have your level line. ( or an un-level line due to air trapped in the hose. )

Have you read ANY of the posts on the first page of this thread?

Us pro's have a way of fixing guttering and it does not involve water levels at all.

Well spotted. And here is the opening post - last sentence....
Has anyone any advice, or am I doing it wrong?

Working with a water level on ladders is difficult and dangerous ( so wrong ) hence the advice to create a level line close to ground level.

What is your professional method ? Does it involve equipment that is cost effective when doing lots of gutters but may not be cost effictive if it is only used once.
