Aqualisa Logic Module Leaking + No Hot Water

I have an odd issue with my Aqualisa shower system. I’m not sure which system this is but I’m attaching photos of the Logic Module.

This morning the shower wouldn’t turn on and the only way for me to get it to work was to turn off and then back on the logic module in the loft. Later on, my wife went to have a shower in the late afternoon (5pm) and the shower turned on but wouldn’t get hot. So I tried the same off/on trick but this time it didn’t work. I also noticed that there was a leak (you can see in the photos).

I have tried to troubleshoot in the following ways (basic googling, ha):
  • Removed the shower head (this is not the original Aqualisa one but a replacement from the previous owners)
  • Removed the shower hose
  • Tried to reset the controller unit in the shower by using variation combinations of ‘Boost’ and ‘On/Off’
  • Adjusted the temp on the Logic Module
    • This appeared to temporarily fix the hot water issue but it was still leaking
Any tips/suggestions/solutions would be much appreciated!

If it's leaking internally then it's a call to Aqualisa to come out and repair I'm afraid. Should have a 5 year warranty on that one, fingers crossed for you that it's less than 5 years old.

Hi muggles, I sent Aqualisa an email and will call them tomorrow. Sadly no warranty as we moved in to the property in Aug 2019 and the system predates us so it’s deffo more than 5 years old!

Hopefully they'll be able to repair it then. Sadly their customer service isn't what it once was. I fitted loads of these around 7-10 years ago, couple had issues and they would bend over backwards to get it sorted. I've now stopped fitting & recommending them however - prices shot up overnight a few years ago, and at almost the same time their aftersales care dropped off significantly.

This sounds costly!! If I’m being honest I’m not even sure I understand the benefit over a normal shower! Tempted to rip it out and just install a bog standard shower system… lol

Got a quote from them today.. Guess how much they want for a repair? I've decided to rip it out and install a bog standard shower, because those prices are OUTRAGEOUS. Now to find a plumber in the Oxfordshire area!

It's only £440 for a complete new shower with processor included from Screwfix. Those prices are indeed very steep!

I think they're quoting like for like, in this case would be the Quartz Classic which is around the £750 mark. In which case I guess £899 for everything all in isn't too bad.

I've emailed back to ask exactly what they're offering for the upgrade package. I've reached out to a local plumber who suggested the work involved in changing to a normal thermostatic shower would mean removal of tiles. By the time it's all said and done, I'd be looking at more than the £899... Very annoying.

Do you know if it's possible for Aqualisa to upgrade the shower to include a ceiling head too? Currently only have the hand shower.

It's the same processor for both showers.

Yes it can be upgraded to a twin head but at that point you really are getting into just buying a complete new shower

I’ve decided to upgrade to their Optic Q shower set including the rainfall head. Gonna get a local plumber to fit it. What would you say is a good price for labour?
