aquapanel?

hi all
i am tiling a shower cubicle and wanted to know if you can secure aquapanel backing board direct onto a solid wall ,without the use wooden batons,
is there a reason you shouldnt secure direct to the wall?

Not really - it comes down to the quality of the wall.

Most walls undulate to some degree - you can use battens to create a true surface onto which to mount the panels, by placing packers behind the battens.
