Very soon we are intending on creating an open plan kitchen/diner by holding up the gable end of the house using "picture frame" type steels. The calculations mention considering to use scaffolding/racking shores? Are these necessary?

We were intending on using plenty of Strongboy XLs (on a "still" day!)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If that's what the engineers have specified, then that's what you should do. Or ask them to re-evaluate their recommendations.

Ordinarily, a pair of props and a needle at max 1m spacings would be sufficient. Plus propping any floor that's bearing on the wall

If you plan on using strongboys, ensure that you use in accordance with their maker's guidelines - ie one each side of a cavity wall, and in this case you'll struggle literally and metorphorically manoeuvring a steel beam between them.
