Keaton's energy sells that movie as easily as Ray Kroc took their idea and ran off with it. The way they showed how the brothers simplified the process by using an ergonomic design from 'kitchen to counter' was really revolutionary at the time, but traces of it can be seen in the way Ford developed the manufacturing process for automobiles in the 20s.. I think the Russians still have their Mcdonald's outlets in Moscow, only they've changed the name to Vkusno i tochka - tasty and that's it. Catchy.

He's had quite a renaissance. Great actor. Loved him in Spotlight.

I think that's why McDonalds is so rubbish now. They've forgotten the formula. We're back to the original problem identified in the film. Cold food you have to wait ages for, rather than instant hot food. In the 80s there were only five main products, hamburger, cheeseburger, quarterpounder, BigMac and Filet-o-Fish. And they were always available instantly and they were hot from the chute. Now everything is made to order, it seems, and is lukewarm at best.

But McDonalds seems more popular than ever. I don't get that.

Haven't seen Spotlight but MK was awesome in 'Birdman'. I could watch that again right now...but no way will i eat a McD these days. My digestion would mount a full on insurrection the like of which not seen since the French took to the barricades in Paris. But the amount of choice is a problem. Too much choice spreads quality too thinly in restaurants, as Gordon Ramsey always tells a failing owner. Simplify the menu and use quality ingredients. The profit margin always has the final say.

Went into the local maccy d’s for a coffee around breakfast time, 80 per cent of the customers were deliveroo, there was metal shelving set up to stack/store their deliveries

I'm still partial to a McD's now and again, usually just get a quarter pounder with cheese and fries. I take the stuff home (only a 5 min drive) but always have to reheat in the micro, especially the fries, which doesn't do them any favours in terms of crispiness. I suppose I could put them under the grill for 5 mins but can't be ar5ed.

Although it's as close to a fully automated process as you can get, the quality of what you get can vary quite dramatically. One thing's for sure, they've now got so frugal with the amount of cheese, sauce and onions that I don't use them anywhere near as often as I used to. Still handy now and again though when I can be ar5ed making a meal.

I made the mistake a few weeks back of asking for a ring sugar doughnut ... £1.80!!!

you'd have to be a doughnut to pay so much. :giggle:
Putting a McD burger in the m.wave can be dangerous...all manner of alien bacteria can grow out of one, so if you begin to glow in the dark, you'll know why.

I love a double sausage and egg mcmuffin.
I love a banana milkshake.
When out and about, handy for a cuppa.

Everything else though, not to my liking.

I'm sure the previous time I bought one they were 99p and even at that I thought they were too expensive. However £1.80 is well and truly taking the ...
