I take a wide variety of prescription meds. All of them have a leaflet explaining side effects. The side effects can be minor or major, but in the majority of cases, the drugs are lifesavers, and there would be many more deaths without them.

AZ was indemnified by the UK government against adverse affects (AEs). Pretty much all therapies have AEs. This claim is trying to punch through and argue the vaccine was both defective and harmful. The bar is high and given how many people have had it, vs the number of AEs, I'd be surprised if they win. They are in effect trying to argue it is like the Thalidomide scandal.
