Hi Guys... I'm after some advice
We moved into a 9 year old house last June .... I noticed condensation in the attic aswell as mould on the felt and wood
The insulation had been wedged into the eves which I've pulled back to the wall plate now, I've also put lap vents in which seemed to help but I still don't think there's enough airflow with it being a north facing house
I've recently treated the wood with distilled white vinegar which seems to of killed but left a stain on the wood.... But there's still spores on the felt, has anybody got an idea what to put on the felt as I don't wanna put vinegar on and have more problems down the line, also is there anything else you guys suggest to put on the wood if the mould does come back and any treatment I can apply after I've finally cleared the mould
Secondly I've been told by somebody to put some air bricks up there to help with ventalation as there is only a really small gap between brickwork and fascia for airflow to get in
So my question is would you put 2 airbricks either side of house or just one end as I've read you can create a wind tunnel instead of the colder air staying in there
(I've managed to get 4 airbricks off a mate )
Also when fitting would they go just above the insulation level or higher up on the brickwork
I've hopefully got somebody who owes me a favour to fit these bit wanted some advice off you guys , this would be the cheaper option for me rather than taking a roof tile out and fitting a vent on roof
