Yes, just put your computer on the internet and a friendly virus will do it for you.

One should not need additional AV for Win8 (according to Micro$oft) as the OS has Windows Defender that does firewall, AV and malware detection. Have taken AVG off my Win8 machine.

@Monkeh, No, not really. Neither do I believe AVG Free AV that is used 50/50 as protection and as advertising channel for the AVG paid product. All, however, depends on the user and their web activity.
