Hi all,

I am planning to fit a 3.5m retractable awning (23KG) above french doors to the rear of a new build house.
But I am unsure whether the supplied anchors are suitable for new build properties since I understand modern bricks are not necessarily solid inside?
(A link to suitable fixings from B&Q/Screwfix/Wickes/etc would be ideal.)

The awning is similar to this - https://www.shopgardendecoration.co...window-door-sun-weather-shade-w-handle-beige/ and the installation manual can be found at - https://productmanual.aosom.com/IN2...00110-009_840-192_02-0676_01-0679_840-148.pdf
Below are pictures of the type of property (I intend to leave 4 bricks of space between the top of the french doors before drilling for the awning.) and the anchors included with the awning.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

You can drill into the mortar joint and use these or similar .....

Thank you. There are 3 brackets to fit though and chances are at least one of them won’t align with the mortar.
What fixing should I use if I need to drill into a brick?

You may have to resort to a resin fix option if you need to drill into a brick and the self mixing cartidge types are very good at doing the job. Drill the hole as normal and squirt in as much resin as you can so it fills the brick cavity then set in the bolt as before and snug it up on the bracket but don't overtighten and once set it will be solid.
