Hello.
My cellar still got a bit of nasty humid smell. I already installed porcelain tiles, but the walls are drywall. I painted drywall with primer, which did not help at all.
I heard that mould is not growing on concrete but it will in plasterboard, so would be clever to remove plasterboard completely to the bare concrete blocks(I assume that what it is behind it).

What about concrete rendering on top of drywall - does it sounds like silly idea?

Thank you for help.

No kidding....o_O

Unless you are prepared top spend many thousands on authentic sensible damp remedies then don't bother with half hearted attempts - they wont work. All sub-terrainian structures are the same.

Get some distance between the walls and drywall - if they're just dot and dabbed, it won't be enough if there's moisture in the walls. I would take the plasterboard off, batten out the wall with 2x1, and re-board it with foil-backed plasterboard. I would incorporate a couple of vents into the board. Ideally you'd also have run a dpm under the floor and as high up the walls as possible, but I assume it's too late for that.
