Bal APD primer not doing its job on Marmox and Impey waterguard

My first big tiling job. It's a wet room and I'm at the stage where I have Marmox boards on floor and walls and an Impey former. I'm just about to put down the Impey Waterguard membrane and the instructions specify priming with the supplied Bal APD primer.
I tested the BAL primer inadvertently as I was doing some construction adhesive tests between back painted glass and marmox boards. (The winner incidentally was definitely CT1 by a big factor!). The Marmox primed with the BAL primer was much easier to wrench from the glass than an un primed Marmox board. This led me onto testing the Impey Waterguard membrane on both BAL primed and unprimed Marmox board. Again it was much easier to pull the membrane from the BAL primed Marmox board
I'm now a bit uncertain about the way forward. The nice guy at Impey technical support suggested diluting 1:1 with water rather than using neat (which I'm testing) but does anyone have any views/experience of this sort of issue?

My understanding is that the primer is used to seal/stabilise any dusty or porous surfaces such as plaster or screed.

I can tell you that the butyl waterguard membrane sticks like sh1t to a blanket on pretty much anything - obviously as long as it's not wet, dusty or crumbly.

I've never used the Marmox boards so don't know what the surface is like but I stuck it to MR plasterboard for my bathroom walls and it's never, ever going to come off without completely destroying the PB.

My floor is sand/cement screed and I used the primer on this only.

Oh, and I ignored the instructions where they said to completely cover all areas with the membrane before tiling. Really? Put the membrane on the floor, then walk all over it while tiling the walls? Nah.

My process:

1 - Applied all the corner strips
2 - Applied WG to the walls only
3 - Sealed vertical corners with the butyl sealant
4 - Protected the bare corner strips where they go on the floor
5 - Tiled the walls fully except for the bottom row where they meet the floor
6 - Applied jointing strips to the floor
7 - Applied WG to the floor
8 - Sealed wall to floor corners with the butyl sealant
9 - Tiled the floor
10 - Tiled the bottom row of the walls
