bathroom cladding and downlights

Refitting my bathroom at the moment and have just battoned out the ceiling to drop it a bit and put the white pvc ceiling cladding on it, it's 8mm thick stuff. can I just clip my led down lights to this directly, or will I need some osb behind it for support?
