We only have cooker hood and no other ventilation (apart from opening windows) which, as winter is imminent, is going to significantly reduce the ventilation. The property is 1970's with fairly old double-glazing.
We try to have the bathroom window open as much as we can around bath/shower times, cooker hood on when cooking, but if there's not much external air flow (a breeze, for example) and the fact I'm not going to really want the window wide open in the height of winter, I'm looking for, at least, some improved air flow.
We're also improving the loft insulation (which is significantly less than the latest recommendations) because the air temperature upstairs is typically cooler than downstairs...
It's just the fact it's the only mechanical extractor without leaving the windows open. We have a dehumidifer but it's cumbersome, uses more power than an extractor would, is noisy and needs to be emptied. The dehumidifier stops the condensation when in use - it's brilliant. but Id like something permanent and doesn't need to be "in the way".
