Hi.
I have a baxi 105he boiler. Pressure is around 0.4 bar so very low. When heating runs it goes up to around 3 bar. If I run the hot water at the same time the pressure goes up to around 3.3 bar and water comes out the pressure overflow pipe.

What would cause this?

Thanks

Update.
You were all correct. Thanks.
Sorted now.
Guy plumbed up the expansion vessel and so far it's working great.
Unfortunately our baxi boiler is 19 years old and we have been recommended to buy a new one. We got a quote but it's nearly £4000.
Going to get some other prices if I can find a local boiler engineer.

If it’s isn’t broken, why fix it? Decent boiler afaik.

Yeah. Mrs getting worried about winter breakdowns and not able to get it fixed. My plan is to keep running it for a while now summer is coming and see how it goes. Probably get another winter out of it I hope but I could do with some decent advice. Heating engineers are hard to find these days. Seems very few around. Well around me.

As Dan says 105 is an easily fixed boiler mine is 22 year old and got loads of life left in it . Only time I would consider changing it is if main heat exchanger went . As for 4k to change a combi someone is trying to have your pants down with that price . You have everything there Already even the condense pipe which might need upgraded if it goes external. Get a few prices pref off someone family / friend recommends .

Yeah.
I listening.
Plumbers at work said they would swap when I'm ready. Think I'll run it for now. See what I can get out of it. If breakdown insurance won't cover then Im having to try fix myself which I'm not keen on doing. Not my area. That's my only worry

Update...
I think the expansion vessel is faulty.
After it was pressurised I'm still losing a tiny amount of water over 24h but no idea where from. Internally I guess.
When I add more water pressure it's not going in as it should. Just not flowing in easy with pressure increase as it should so I think that's the problem.
Being looked at Tuesday by BG but I think they will refuse to fix so I might end up swapping myself or getting someone else in.
Watch this space..
