My recently fitted Baxi Brazillia F8S wall heater has a thermostat which does not appear to do any thing. It turns fully from 1 to 7 getting tighter towards 1, but no variation on the viewable flame is apparant.

Can anybody explain what the thermostat should control please.

It will not reduce in flame size until the air temperature matches that selected. Set at, say, 4, allow to run. The flame should eventually fall. Did your installer not explain operating instructions?

Sounds like you have the 'Comfort Stat' model. And as you say it has a thermostat, so if the room is cold, the flame may not adjust when you turn the knob, it will vary according to the room temperature.

Got it sorted thanks. The heater flame has to be set on high before the thermostat can turn it down to low. I had been using it on the low flame setting.
