There was an excellent three programmes on BBC4 last night.

BBC Two - The Fifty Years War: Israel and the Arabs, Series 1, 1948-56

The formation of the state of Israel and the wars of 1948 and 1956. Made in 1998.

I urge those who have an interest in this issue to watch it. The three programmes will take three hours.
It was the first three of six programmes.
I'm not sure when the next three are due for broadcast, but I'll keep a look out for them.

There was a programme on immediatel;y before ths one, which I didn't see. It'll add another hour of viewing.
I'll try to catch it later when I have time.
