BEKO DW603 dishwasher - continuous humming noise (cycle doesn't end)

Sorry - seems to be a lot of similar posts but not a lot of detail provided.

Beko dw603 diswasher - 3.5 years old and ran fine until yesterday.

Ran usual cycle but noted unusual/continuous sound of (drain) pump.

Switched off and inspected. Dishes were mostly clean but water found in sump (filter housing full).

Before setting off removing the integrated dishwasher, we:

- confirmed no blockage between pipe connection to waste and drain (but currently can not access machine end of waste pipe)
- Given the arms, etc. a clean to make sure no blockages
- cleaned filters
- ran pre-wash cycle. After 2 attempt water had gone. Once empty, still wouldn't run.
- switched off at mains - left overnight (so longer than the stated 2hrs) then did 3 sec reset. WASHER ran on pre-wash but base of washer now full of water.

Contemplating:

Extracting the dishwasher (it's a bespoke wood kitchen so kick board doesn't simply unclip- doh!) then:
1. Checking the waste, etc for possible blockage.
2. inspecting the pump for damage. Seem cheap to buy/easy to fit.

On Beko site, a pump buyer has commented: "Although it turned out the original pump was fine and the safety float mechanism was actually causing the water outlet problem in my case which i removed."

I cannot see the safety float mechanism listed on their spare parts page? Does it have a different name? Where is it fitted on the dishwasher? How does it operate and how do I test?

Dishwasher out and sat on saw horses!!

Bottom tray full of water - same salty looking water that was puddles inside washer.

Indicative of a leak so I'm going I for the inspection
 
Base tray removed and dried.

All pipe connections seem firm and dry.

Leak seemed to be coming from the drain pump connection to the sump. Pump removed and o-ring, etc. look intact. No sign of blockage, drain flap moving freely, drain pipe clear.

Ran pre-rinse cycle which seemed to run fine (can hear water flowing, etc) and dishwasher eventually beeped to say cycle ended.

No sound of the drain pump and opening the dishwasher confirmed water had not drained.

No sign of water below.

Need to test drain pump. Any suggestions? Says its 230-240V 50Hz and has two pjns/terminals. Can I just pop it on my bench and connect it to the mains??

Pump runs fine on bench although possibly noisy (both sure how long it runs during normal operation).

Have also tested the float switch for continuity. Moving the float up and down, clicks the switch and the continuity moves between from one terminal to another.

Assumption is that power is not being sent to the pump. Going to test later.

If not power (during cycle/near end of cycle) then could this be a circuit board problem?
 
Swapped the pump out for a bulb to test if any power is being sent to drain pump.

Ran P2 programme twice. Bulb did not light during either cycle and both cycles completed. Could not drain as pump was not connected.

Note: put direct power to pump and drained fine.

Power does not appear to be reaching the pump therefore it does not drain.

At some I think there has been some sort of blockage - but clear now.

Water had enter the base tray so dishwasher had been trying to drain but water removed now.

HELP!!! Does this suggest the PCB is shot??
 
Been reading a lot of reports of a pipe disconnecting. Had a look this morning and the clear pipe (approx 15mm) is connected at both ends (start at right side panel and connects to sump). There was a small amount of gunk in it but the slightest rinse cleared that. Explored both connections with a pipe cleaner and both ends are clean.

While doing the above, small amount of residual water can out of the machine.

Otherwise, still none the wiser!!!

Everything back as intended and exhibiting original fault.

Ran a test (P4 cycle):

- washed, dried and drained BUT cycle does not end (no beep)
- instead can hear continuous low hum.
- open door, hum stops - close door, hum continues.
- cancel cycle and attempt to start new cycle results in same humming noise. New cycle does not start
 
Hello, did you manage to sort your dishwasher out? I have a similar problem- beko 686 about 6 years old - human and doesn’t start. When I pressed the start and programme number together r5 appears on controls panel does anyone know what that means.

Does tilting the machine at 45 degree help ?

I didn't receive any response to my post so we've finally given up trying to salvage ours (new one arrives tomorrow!). Tried all sorts and feel confident it's the main circuit board but they're £55ish and one come with 1-year warranty.

Tilting it did help (clear the water from the base tray) but in our case the water cane back when the washer was next ran. The drain pump simply want run so the washer overflows - the water then runs out of two overflow pipes and into the base tray.

Have exactly the same prob on a DW 603. Water pumping in and water pumping out however but still have a leak from somwhere triggering the flood sensor and the machines just hums when you try to start a cycle. I also think it's the main circuit board as i don't get consistent results. I had the same blocked clear pipe from the right side to the sump, clearing it didn't seem to make any difference whatsoever.

I've not given up yet but i'm close. It's getting the full tear down, clean and rebuild tonight.
 
Our "leak" was a result of the water in the dishwasher not draining. There are small drain holes (below where the door pivots) - these lead to the two short hoses located underneath - the two that are open ended therefore fill the drain tray.

I'd offer to send you my old PCB to trial (easy to switch) but I think I binned it the other bit.

FYI - if all else fails, things like the baskets, cutlery basket, etc sell - recovered some of the cost of our replacement unit that way!
 
I've spotted those two drains near the hinge but can't find the inlet. No doubt i'll discover it later. I may try the circuit board route if it's only £55. I can always try a careful fit and return it as unwanted should it not work, provided it doesn't come in a sealed static bag, which would be unfortunate . Standard consumer rights gives you 14 day money back guarantee on goods or services bought at distance.
 
The warranty on the parts is 12-mth. There are reviews saying they didn't last that long before the same issue resurfaced.
 
Oh of course but it wouldn't be a warranty if i was just sending it back as 'unused' (or in other words it just didn't fix my issue). I'm in the middle of selling my house so that doesn't bother me if it only lasts 6 months (y):LOL:
