Hi all,
Recently moved into a flat that had a very old Urmet intercom handset. We replaced it with a Bell 801 handset and was all fine for a while, buzzer and everything worked. Recently developed an issue where a very loud feedback noise can be heard when the handset is picked up. Can still open the door with the buzzer and can hear the ring. But once picked up, only loud noise is heard. Nothing really changed inside our flat - this is issue was semi-intermittent at the beginning but now is constant. Other flats are not experiencing this. I've changed the handset with a new one again from Amazon, as a replacement, and still does this. I found that it is the O wire that causes this when re-wiring it.
Any ideas what it could be? could it be something wrong with the main panel downstairs?
