Hi all - I have a window sill down the side of my house which is in desperate need of repainting. But I can see that a previous repair has been attempted with concrete (makes sense as the other unreachable sills above are in a terrible state) but it's not a great job; you can see the pitting and areas that need smoothing out.
I'm not experienced at working with concrete; not the finer stuff you need to know how to tickle correctly anyway - and just after some advice of the best way to smooth this out before painting. Perhaps a certain mix with some plasticiser or other additive troweled over? Do I need to float it or would running a plasterers trowel over do the trick? (I have a backup one that isn't too precious!)

Thanks!
