Best place to sell used Electrolux washing machine parts and how much to charge?

The bearings in the drum of our Electrolux EWG147540W washing machine went recently and our insurance company have since wrote the machine off and are giving us a new Siemens one.

As they are taking the old machine away to be recycled (we had to pay £12 for that), I have since taken all the parts out inside what I think may be of some value. What is the best place to sell used parts and how much should I charge for them.

The parts I have salvaged are:

  • Induction Motor
  • Drum Belt
  • Mains filter Capacitor
  • Front Control panel
  • Main controller with full wiring harness.
  • Automatic detergent dispenser with draw.
  • Electronic door lock and associated wiring.
  • Drainage Pump
  • Circulation pump and Filter assembly
  • Heating element
  • Dual solenoid value assembly
  • Analogic Pressure Switch
  • Mains Power lead with molded plug.
I tried to get the main plastic pulley of the drum, but could not undo the large bolt.

You may find the insurance company own the old machine and they may now consider you have stolen some of their property for your own profitable benefit.

I would be asking why? Any insurance policy is meant to ensure that you are not out of pocket as a result of an "Insurance Covered event" And that you are put back to a pre-loss condition?

in effect you are £12 down [never mind the cost of the premium] Would it cost you £12 to chuck the machine into the back of the car and take it to your local tip? or even get a bulk uplift by your Local Council??

Not sure about where to punt on the used bits?

As an aside? what are the Insurance Company getting for the scrap [which you have removed?] Problem there is that in effect the damaged machine technically belongs to the Insurer? As last post above ??? by Bernardgreen

Well I don’t know if it it the insurance company them selves who are picking it up. I think it may be who ever is delivering the new one.

Even if they don’t take the old machine away (as if we did not pay the £12 they wanted to dispose of it), I must be able to make more than £12 from all the parts.
 
Only place I can think of to sell the parts on is eBay but some, if not most of them, could be sitting around for ages and those parts that do sell won’t go for much. I’d say list them all on eBay and what you have left after a week just run them straight down the tip or you will be looking at them for years.

So it's not like used car spares, where you can pick up 2nd hand parts for a fraction of the price of new parts. (Wheeler dealers fashion.)
 
Try Gumtree. I've recently used that site to sell (albeit at a near giveaway price) a partly-functioning vintage record-player for 'spares or repairs'. The buyer responded within 17 minutes of my ad being posted.

Simple answer is you just won’t know until you try so why not give it a go?

From experience no ones interested, our local repair guy has dozen or more broken washing machines in his garage awaiting scrap, he said there is no interest in second hand spares , nightmare just trying to identify a specific part for a repair .
