best tools for double glazing window replacement

I've replaced several blown windows in my house and always used a decorators knife and scrapers and other tools to prise out the beading - which until now has always been on the inside. I've now got two blown windows with beading on the outside and in an upstairs bedroom (typical).
the beading on these windows is unbelievably tight and I'm unable to get it off so I expect I might need some better tools this time. fortunately I think I can unscrew the window frame and take the window off which may help.
can anyone experienced please recommend the best names to go for in terms of double glazing tools? I'm going to need the best quality tools I can get to have half a chance of doing this. thanks for any advice.

If they're externally glazed then what does the inside look like, do you have a 'wedge gasket' or is the glass stuck in on glazing tape, a picture of the bead AND the inside would help us give advice. Depending how old your externally glazed windows are then there was a very old system that required a special tool from the profile manufacturer to remove them without butchering them

Yep that's sheer frame profile, you won't get them out undamaged, you'll need the sheer frame deglazing tool. These beads don't shuffle in to release, they knock downwards and lock in place. I'm driving at minute, when I get to hotel I'll give a better description

-Right from memory this is how the cross section looks like, the 2 female prongs at the back knock down onto a male prong(uwer), you can see why now there is no movement in the bead, the special tool I used to have pushed down between the rubber gasket and the glass and you then prised the back of the bead up, to refit the bead you tilted the front lip in first and then you knocked the back down back into place.

thankyou for this great help crank, that looks like what I'm going to need. I saw a youtube video as well once you told me it was a sheerframe.

I don't know how old your windows are but I haven't seen this system for getting on for 25 years, sheerframe used to give out the tools as freebies, when you get the beads out please take some photos especially the end of the bead, it'll help others who stumble across this site who have the same problem beads, also saves me doing a drawing everytime lol

depression and defeat. I cannot get the beading out, it will not pop even using the proper tool which cost me £38. first I tried up the ladder but could not get it out. so then I took the window out and had it on the garage floor and it still would not pop. I've got the tool bent right back with the handle touching the glass but the beading will not pop. I tried heating the beading with a hair dryer to make it more malleable - it would not pop. the picture shows I even had a claw hammer under it but it will not pop.
I've spent nearly £100 on this so far (glass and tool) and I can't get the glass out of the frame.

yeah I saw that video thanks. like I said the beading will not pop out even when the tool is bent right back with the handle touching the glass. I think I will have to take the window to a double glazing place and see if they can swap the glass for me
