US President Joe Biden has said he is pressing Israel to “significantly get out” of Gaza, after being interrupted by protesters calling for a ceasefire in the Middle East during a campaign stop in South Carolina.
“I understand their passion,” Biden said of the protesters, shortly after beginning his remarks. “I’ve been quietly working with the Israeli government to get them to reduce and significantly get out of Gaza.”
