Racking my brains now.

My Gran used to have tins of boiled sweets in the car. I'm sure the name was X and Y but can't remember the names. Can anybody help?

Also, I was thinking about a beer advert in the 80s using Frank Ifield's song "I remember you".

Trying to remember which brewery the ad was for. I think it was either Wilsons or Greenall Whitley.

Both NW breweries and both long gone now....anyone remember?

Mintoes were the gobstopper of choice back in t'day.
Dunno 'bout the beer ad' but i can tell you the best ever was Carling's Squirrel negotiating an obstacle course to the Mission Impossible theme.

Carling challenge-anneka-parody.

Carling towels-on-sunbeds.

It's coming back to me a bit... Think it was Smith something for the sweets.

I remember the fruit ones wrapped in white paper with a soft centre.

Surly the best beer advert had Melanie Sykes in it

The sweets could have been Smith Kendon Travel Sweets? I remember my uncle having these (or a variant of) in the car.

I used to love those!
