Maybe this site could have a premium site where a diy/have a go merchants/EE's,GB's/un qualified ****s,home wreckers who forget about planning/building common sense regulations and all the cash market.

Just pay a small premium for CORRECT advice so you dont feck up.

Edit,your local council should be able to advise,also ask your home insurer which diy house repairs?improvements they allow.

I might add that that I had already programmed in the number a 24hr emergency plumber in my phone just in case the simple compnoent swap turned into a scene from a "Carry On" film
