Ok. Bit stuck here. Will avg free edition keep botnet at bay or do i need something else? Haven't the dosh so free software advice please. Thanks in advance

I use Microsoft essentials and haven't had any problems with botnet?,essentials is free.

Free antivirus is just as good as the paid antivirus. except it doesnt have a firewall nor does it automatically scan files as you download. Personally id quite happy run a free Anti virus id just be a little more cautious

Which you don't need.

They usually do, actually, or they'd be completely pointless.
