I got some really nice oak engineered wooden floorboards for one of the rooms in my new place, and then noticed they are bowed (or whatever it's called: when lying flat, the centre of the plank is higher than the ends)
The floor underneath is concrete.
I tried to install a few planks, weighing them down, but it was impossible to push the tongue and groove together. I'm not sure if it's only because they're bowed, or if it's also the T&G's themselves having expanded or something, because even with what looked like lining the planks up enough I still couldn't get them to slot into each other.
I'm wondering if there's anything I can do of whether I should just abandon the whole project.
Is there a way to make the planks straight?
Should I try and glue the floor down?
Is it common for the T&G's to not fit together in used flooring (slight damage, or glue?)
Any advice is very welcome.
Thanks!
