Broken granite slab - can it be repaired?

So my son somehow managed to crack one of our outdoor patio granite slabs.

I've not researched too much but previous retailer no longer supply these and they were fitted 10 years ago so might struggle to find something that won't look too obviously different.

I have the two broken bits but unsure on what to use to repair. I have seen epoxy resin used for indoor granite worktops but this is outdoors and not sure if that will be up to the job.

Appreciate any tips on how to repair ... if It is even possible?!

Might this work?

Find, or cut a slab of equal size to the broken one. Mix up some epoxy, and have some joiners sash clamps to hand, plus G-clamps. Epoxy the broken edges, and the cut to size slab, place the broken parts on top and clamp it all tightly together. It might be prudent, to do a trial reassembly first, before mixing.

You would then have to dig out a bit deeper, where the broken one went, to allow for the extra thickness of the second slab.

If the bits fit back together ok then CT 1 or similar will bond it together, you will need some mortar by the looks of it also to bed it on.

ooh CT1 - never heard of it @catlad ... but google has come to the rescue.

This stuff right? https://www.toolstation.com/c-tec-power-grab-n-bond-construction-adhesive/p74688 ... or there is also a CT1 'sealant and adhesive' and I can get that in clear or white but I don't think this is suitable for my needs

Another Q .. for clamps it's an awkward area/angle and would need a clamp (or 2) to run at an angle across the slab. Are clamps needed you think? or can I butt something up against the bits while they cure?

Yes that's what its made for. No need for clamps really but you will need to keep it in position whilst it cures.
For a good bond rub the ct1 onto the broken bits with the nozzle.
