We have BT Whole Home AX6600 Mesh.

I have just resurrected an old phone of mine (Huawei MediaPad X2) to check it before listing for sale.

The MediaPad has a/b/g/n WiFi capabilities.
It refuses to connect to the Mesh.

Not all the devices in our house are WiFi 6 enabled, but I believe those that are not are ac.

Does than mean our Mesh won't work with n?

I have tested several phones now.

Those with ac connect, anything less and they don't.

Am I stuffed?

I know some older devices don't like connecting to a modern AP, that has multiple bands, but all the band's share the same SSID.
If you have the facility, try renaming the SSID's - for example "ssid-5GHz".
Hopefully, the devices won't then get 'confused'!
...although I have no idea if this will work, or not, with your Mesh network

You may find the router is only set to broadcast AC & AX, there should be a setting to enable N also.

-or-

It could be the WiFi security option setting of the router that isn't compatible with the older devices.

Go into the routers settings and change to allow WPA2, or WPA+WPA2 (similar to below)
