Hi all,

I have laid some laminate flooring in the kitchen (the floating, interlocking kind) on insulation and a dpm - all bought from B&Q.

In the last couple of weeks, some of the joins have been bubbling and it looks like it's getting worse.

My first thought was water getting under the floor from the sink as it is right next to the effected area and I've not had worktops fitted yet, but none of the planks below the sink units are remotely bulging.

Other reason might be from heat as this patch of floor bears the brunt of the afternoon sun, but I've left a significant gap around the edges (up to 10mm), and the planks aren't touching the walls either.

Any ideas?

Shouldn’t be fitted under the kitchen units as that stops expansion unless cut around the legs.

Agree with Daz, looks like water damage, the underlay can carry the water out into kitchen and laminate sucks up water like a sponge .
